Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ Music Video: A Comprehensive Fashion Analysis

The stylists at Blackpink really deserve a raise. The number of looks Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé go through during the three-minute, 13-second music video for “Pink Venom,” the first single from their upcoming album born pink? Easily 20, almost all brands combined. By far the biggest is Celine, who Lisa gives a special shoutout to in the middle of the single. “It’s the life of a vandal, masked and I’m still into Celine/Designer crimes or it wouldn’t be me, ooh,” she raps, wearing a Celine-stamped bucket hat and overalls that expose her GCDS underwear. Surprisingly, this appears to be Celine’s only look in the video. (Though her love for Hedi Slimane’s designs undoubtedly remains strong; she regularly represents Celine and even walked the runway for her Spring 2022 show earlier this year.)

Jennie is also known for her allegiance to a certain home. And of course, the K-pop star made sure to represent Chanel with a necklace worn over a Demobaza denim crop top. Expect to see more from the latter label soon: the finale is a great showcase of the Bulgarian designers behind, Demo and Tono. As for Rosé and Jisoo, the first dresses again in Saint Laurent while the second opts for the total Dior.

No wonder the band didn’t come to play: “Pink Venom” is the first song on what is believed to be their comeback album after a two-year hiatus. Waiting for the next fashion shows in their born pink videos, take a closer look at their many outfits, here.

Jisoo launches the video wearing a dazzling Miss Sohee dress and playing the Korean instrument geomungo.

Jennie in Alaïa and GCDS

Jennie pauses to serve up the stunning first look: a sheer cheetah-print Alaïa dress worn with towering GCDS platforms.

Rosé makes its first appearance in another monochromatic look, this time by Vietnamese label Fanci.

Lisa is all about logos when she raps her Celine verse.

Jennie in Adidas and Vivienne Westwood

Jennie makes her own take on the sport by juxtaposing a Manchester United crop top with Vivienne Westwood pearls.

Lisa is enjoying a luxury jewelry moment with a little help from Bulgari.

This white corseted dress from Jisoo comes courtesy of Puglia-based label Marina Eerrie.

Jennie’s Chanel boots stretched almost to the shortest denim jumpsuit possible. She completed the ensemble with a Jeff Hamilton vegan leather jacket covered in basketball team crests.

Jisoo’s knit cuff unexpectedly teamed up with her head-to-toe Dior.

Looks like the headlines are in!

Lisa embraced the pink theme in an Alexander Wang handkerchief top.

Lisa in Sicko Cartel and Rick Owens x Dr. Martens

Lisa’s look in all its glory. His Sicko Cartel pants make us want to start wearing camo, and these Rick Owens x Dr. Martens camping boots are perfect for fall.

Jennie in Demobaza and Chanel

There’s the Chanel scream we knew was coming! The so-called “Human Chanel” also joined Jisoo and Rosé in wearing cuffs.

A pink-haired Lisa went fashion-forward, wearing a one-shoulder top reminiscent of Rick Owens.

Demobaza, Demobaza, Demobaza. The tag is all over the video finale.
