Frank Marshall thinks there could be more films in the ‘Jurassic World’ franchise.
The upcoming ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is the final film in the latest trilogy, but the producer has suggested more films will follow in the future.
Frank told Slash Film: “I think ‘Dominion’ is going to wrap up this trilogy, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re going to sit down and see what the future holds.
“We have this wonderful series, ‘Camp Cretaceous’, on Netflix. Obviously we want to make good, quality movies with great storytelling, great writers and directors, but we’re certainly looking to do more in the ‘Jurassic’ world.”
The producer previously hinted that the big-money ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise may have a future, as he described ‘Dominion’ as the “beginning of a new era”.
Frank explained, “It’s the start of a new era. The dinosaurs are now with us on the continent, and they will be for some time, I hope.”
Director Colin Trevorrow recently explained that the new blockbuster, which is slated for release in June, has a different formula to previous films in the series, as the dinosaurs toured the world in the latest film.
The 45-year-old director said: “They multiplied and lived among us and clashed with us.
“(The other ‘Jurassic Park’ movies) have pretty much the same story. But ‘Dominion’ is set all over the world, across a lot of different environments: wilderness, urban, desert, snow. It’s exciting to see these creatures navigate environments they weren’t built to survive in. They grew up in a theme park and now they’re here!”
