The Rolling Stones honored with 60th anniversary Royal Mail stamps

The British Royal Mail pays homage to the Rolling Stones with a collection of stamps for its 60th anniversary. The collection includes eight special stamps, with images capturing the band at their best energy levels over the years, in a special keepsake pack featuring the band’s iconic logo on the tongue and lips. The pack contains two protective strips to keep the stamps in pristine condition and will be available from January 20.

Almost 40 different collectibles and gift boxes will be offered on the Royal Mail website, including medals, miniature sheets, framed prints, postcards and more. A variety of limited edition products are also available.

Among them, a strictly limited souvenir edition of the Rolling Stones Prestige stamp book, protected in a flight case style box. Written by eminent music critic Alexis Petridis, this comprehensive 24-page guide traces the distinguished career of one of the world’s most famous rock and roll groups. The set contains the 12 stamps exclusive to the perforated stamp issue in the book.

Each 5,000 limited edition book features a special edition cover with the iconic Stones logo on the tongue and lips and has been individually numbered on the back cover. It also includes a Certificate of Authenticity ‘Access to all areas’.

The custom flight case display box is decorated with artwork from The Rolling Stones and comes with acoustic foam inside to hold and protect the stamp book.

A special edition replica of The Rolling Stones stamp set is also available, finished in pure 24k gold. The set is officially licensed and strictly limited to only 1,962 sets in honor of the Rolling Stones’ first concert at the Marquee Club in 1962. This is the first set of gold stamps issued by Royal Mail in its series of Music Giants stamps.

Each of the eight stamps in the set is colourized with selective embossed details to produce a stunning finish. It comes in a bespoke black case with the iconic Rolling Stones logo on the tongue and lips in an eye-catching gold leaf print. Each includes an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

In February, replica solid silver stamps featuring the band performing at Madison Square Garden in New York in 1972 and in New Jersey on their 2019 No Filter tour will be available.

Stamp bars are minted from 1 ounce 999 Ag pure silver with a perforated style border and selective embossed details on the queen’s head and value to achieve the unique appearance of a stamp. The stamp motif is printed in full color with the iconic Rolling Stones tongue and lip logo stamped with a proof finish on the reverse side and an hallmark to confirm the silver content.

A limited edition of 1,962 of each will be produced. Each will be presented in an elegant presentation box with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
